Alexander Coggin has an utterly unique way of looking at the world. Now based in London after several years in Berlin, the American is happiest wandering the streets with his camera, feeding his visual curiosity and capturing scenes and subtexts he happens across.
With an extraordinary eye for the unusual, the unexpected and the unlikely, he captures fantastic combinations of colour and texture. The subjects change according to what he finds, but he conjures weird and wonderful compositions from even the most everyday scenarios.
A trained actor, his theatrical training still influences his image-making – he is interested in backstory, body language, and the gap between perception and reality. His bold use of flash adds a magical realism to his pictures, which wouldn’t look out of place on the big screen.

Andrea Thode
Born 1972 in Cesena in the northern part of italy, he lives in hamburg/germany since his early childhood.
As a well-trained photographer with a focus on food, stilllife and reportages, he works for clients across the industry and editorial for well over a decade. He worked many years as a staff photographer for the food-magazine EFFILEE, where he created new perspectives on food photography. Andrea Thode is working as a freelance photographer since 2012.

EXHIBITION DESCRIPTION For this exhibition Andrea Thode has put together a series of four productions that he created in teamwork with various prop- and food stylists for BARBARA magazine, which is issued once a month in germany. One production consists of a spread that serves as an introduction to the four recipes. Every single production has an overarching topic and the teams ambition is then to create eye-catching and captivating food images for every issue. Since the teamwork on every production is essential, they must be mentioned in the same breath with the photographer: food styling: Eliane Neubert & Stevan Paul prop styling: Maria Grossmann & Pinny Daniels
Joseph Ford

Joseph began his adult life sensibly enough by studying French and Italian at the University of Cambridge and the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris, then horrified his parents by moving to Paris to be a photographer.
His personal work has won him numerous awards and has inspired films and campaigns for LVMH, Missoni, Lacoste and many others. He is regularly featured on Colossal, Fubiz, PDN, Design Boom and other art/design blogs.
His work concentrates on optical illusions. With his Aerial Fashion series he blended landscapes shot from helicopters with still life close-ups of clothes. His Knitted Camouflage series uses custom hand-knitted sweaters to make people disappear into their environments.
His work is in various private collections and in the permanent collection of the Hamburg Art and Design Museum and the Musée d’Art Urbain & Street Art in France, and has been exhibited as part of numerous festivals, including the Zürich Aufsehen festival and the Andorra Land Art Biennale.
Joseph is based in the UK.

Since my first explorations of aerial photography I was fascinated by the way that patterns appear in nature or architecture that reminded me of other textures, other materials. When you're in the air, cars become toys, tall walls are reduced to lines on the ground, buildings become geometric shapes… During the process of exploring this change of perspective, it became clear that a sand dune could become a fold in a piece of clothing, a zipper could become a train track. I spent days researching areas I wanted to photograph from the air, then even more time finding ways of combining aspects of the landscape with details of clothing. I’ve worked with clients including Missoni, Lacoste, Pepe Jeans London and Hennessy on this project.

Max Faber was born in Berlin/Germany.
Being a professional foodstylist he has been working for different important foodmagazines, books and commercial clients in Germany for more than 10 years.
Since 2016 he is working on different food projects using his own special technique: Scanography.
The latest work is his book „Klapp-Stullen“ honoured with different prices.

Eva Roovers
Originally from Amsterdam, she currently lives and works in London while studying for an MA at the Royal College of Art.
With a background in fine art, her stills photography is often described as sculptural or with painteral qualitities. Her practice is a mixture of editorials and commercial assigments by fashion brands that tend to like her artistic approach and her personal practice has her works shown in galeries and artfairs in Europe.

Series: Moving Moments in Time Moving Moments (first 5x red circle/yellow/blue images) in Time was made after Roovers was selected by FOAM for the exhibition Jong&Talentvol in the Mondriaan museum in Netherlands. She was asked to respond to an early figurative work by the master Mondriaan. In her selected work Roovers noticed one woman, walking by twice, as if time had just passed her by. She looked the same, just grown older. Roovers got fascinated by the nature of painting versus that of photography. Where time is inherent in the process of painting, photography always captures just a fraction, a snap. She wanted to embed this element in an abstract series. She build an installation of geometrical shapes and with bright colours, mirroring elements and transparent surfaces. Constructed with 2d materials and without the use of digital manipulation. The resulting sculpture now reviews itself in the mirror. Like we all do sometimes, and wonder where those new lines and creases came from.. All of a sudden.. It seems.
Series: Planes (6 last images) was an assigment by Baars&Bloemhoff for their new materials. Roovers got card blanche to work with their materials. The whole series is based in balancing. Compositioning with flattened surfaces but simultaneously keeping a keen eye for tactility, she works much like a painter.
The results are images that seem to have been quieted, compositions that balance and staging that does not appear to exist in the same time and space. (Without the use of digital manipulation) It is a subdued, absurdist effect of recognition and detachment that explores our daily life in a fresh and playful manner.

Real tintypes ( wet plate collodium ), 18x 24 on aluminum. When one speaks of photography that transgresses the boundaries to painting and the painterly, one tends to mean works in which the structuring effect of colour has priority. In the works of Peter Franck's shown here, the crossing of the boundary between the two is also apparent – although it defies description in conventional terms. This and their narrative character are what determine the quality of these works. Elements from comic strips, the history of film and art as well as everyday situations collide.

Karen Faurie is born in 1993 in Saint-Nazaire, Loire-Atlantique, France. Graduated with a BTEC higher national diploma in Photography and a Master of Photography at the École Nationale Supérieure Louis Lumière in Paris, Karen has enriched herself with valuable experiences in photographic advertising production and assistantship. In her spare time and travels, she devotes herself to a singular photographic practice, combining landscapes, scenes of life and still life. Nature, materials and forms obsess her, both from far and near. In her photography, she seeks to transport the viewer into her world and her emotions.

Along the walks in the forest and in the countryside, some treasures are hidden among the vegetation. We wait patiently for these flowers to dry, to reveal their final beauty. They are then arranged, simply and alone, facing the lens and the falling light of the end of the day. Colors change as the sun goes down and create a color palette that invites you to dream.
